These M&M’S Holiday Mint Chocolate meringue wreaths make a lovely addition to any cookie exchange.

5 egg whites

Pinch cream of tartar

1 1/4 cups granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

6 to 8 drops green food coloring

31/2 oz white chocolate chips

2 pkg (42 g each) M&M’S Holiday Mint Chocolate, divided

Green frosting tube

Assorted sprinkles, for decorating


1. Preheat oven to 250?F. Using electric mixer, beat egg whites until frothy. Add cream of tartar; beat until soft peaks form. Gradually beat in sugar, 1 tbsp at a time, until sugar is dis-solved and stiff, glossy peaks form. Beat in vanilla and enough food coloring to achieve desired hue. Spoon into piping bag fitted with large star tip.

2. Pipe 20 wreath shapes, about 2 inches in diameter, onto parchment paper–lined baking sheet, at least 2 inches apart. Bake for 60 to 90 minutes or until dry and crisp but not browned. Turn oven off; let stand in oven for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely.

3. Meanwhile, place white chocolate chips in microwavable bowl; microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth. Let cool slightly. Chop 1 pkg of M&M’S; stir into cooled melted chocolate.

4. Turn meringues over; carefully spread melted chocolate evenly over 6 meringues, taking care not to break them. Sandwich wreaths together; let dry.

5. Using frosting, decorate wreaths with M&M’S and sprinkles to resemble ornaments. Hang wreaths with red ribbon if desired.

Tip: Use store-bought red frosting to pipe decorative bows on wreaths if desired.
